REGION
PHILIPPINES / NEGROS ISLAND
For over a century, Negros was recognized as the 'sugar bowl' of the Philippines. From 1850 until the 1980s, sugar cane dominated the landscape of this beautiful island with deserted white beaches and lush jungles. The rich volcanic soils produce sugarcane among the most complex and gentle on the planet, and the great historic houses scattered on the island reflect the rich history of his time.
